Meet Our Students

Abdolrasol Rahimi

Advisor/Mentor: Natasha Case
Sponsor/Grant: Parks College
Program Start: Fall 2015

Abdolrasol Rahimi holds a B.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from the Amirkabir University, Iran. Prior to enrolling at Saint Louis University, he studied at Oklahoma State University, where he earned a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. As a master’s student, he investigated the mechanical properties of the cornea and evaluated the use of a collagen crosslinking by Riboflavin/UVA technique as a potential treatment for Keratoconus disease. He has several teaching experiences in the areas of biomechanics and finite element modeling and assists in mentoring new students in the laboratory.

Currently, Abdolrasol is a Ph.D. student with particular interests in soft tissue biomechanics and tissue engineering. He is working with Dr. Natasha Case in the Biomedical Engineering Department at SLU. His research interests are focused on studying the effects of biophysical and mechanical stimuli in cartilage tissue engineering and creating a computational model to study cartilage development.
