Meet Our Students

James Slack

Advisor/Mentor: Raymond LeBeau
Sponsor/Grant: Parks College
Program Start: Spring 2016

James received his Bachelor of Science (B.S.E.) degree in Engineering Physics from Murray State University in 2015. He is now pursuing his Master of Science in Engineering in Saint Louis University’s Parks College in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. He can also hold his breath for almost a full minute and makes a pretty darn good peach cobbler.

Though having a background in Thermal Fluids, Slack’s research is done in the SLU Collaborative Haptics, Robotics, and Mechatronics Laboratory (CHROME) where he is currently working to demonstrate SLU’s contributory efficacy in the world of advancing medical technology. His current active project is manifestly invested in breaking down limiting barriers for the complete destruction of brain tumors during minimally invasive thermal therapy.
