Meet Our Students

Nick Duong

Advisor/Mentor: Jianfeng Ma
Sponsor/Grant: National Science Foundation
Program Start: Fall 2012

Nick H. Duong is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering at Saint Louis University. He came from Vietnam with his family. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Saint Louis University.

Nick H. Duong has been working on a project titled “Collaborative Research: Investigation of Material Removal in Impact Machining by Loose Abrasives.” He is focusing on multi-scale modeling of material removal in brittle materials by the impact of nano diamond particles. The Abaqus software has been employed to create finite element (FE) models in nano scale. The FE models will be validated with experimental results from collaborator.
