John J. Kustura Fund
The family of long-time Parks Professor John J. Kustura has established the John J. Kustura Engineering and Business Lectureship Fund in his honor.
Mr. Kustura, who passed away in 2003, was professor emeritus from the Department of Management at Parks College. He retired in 1996 with 36 years of service. Mr. Kustura graduated from Parks College in 1951 and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He joined the Parks faculty in 1960. “I don’t believe my dad was ever happier than when he was in front of a class, sharing his experiences and knowledge with students,” said his son, John B. Kustura, a 1977 Parks graduate.
“That’s why my family wanted to do something special in my father’s honor.” Mr. Kustura’s wife, Jean, and children John, Daniel, Richard and Mary Kathleen, established the lectureship fund, which will be used to bring notable speakers from industry, academia and government to Parks College to share their expertise on engineering and business topics.
The Kustura family is encouraging all Parks alumni to assist in raising the $25,000 needed to endow this fund for the benefit of all present and future Parks students. “This is a legacy in which we can all proudly share,” Kustura said. “It’s the best way we know to ensure that my father’s love of teaching never ends.”
