Mission Statement

The Healcopter will provide rapid deployment, rescue coordination, aid distribution and evacuation of casualties in the event of a disaster as outlined by the American Helicopter Society (AHS) Student Design Competition.

Mission Requirements

Due to the changing nature of emergencies the aircraft will encounter, various configurations and equipment will be necessary.  The Healcopter will provide a combination of emergency response, large payload, and high altitude adaptability.  The capabilities of the Healcopter will allow pilots to reach victims more rapidly at a minimum speed of 240 knots, while being able to travel long distances to remote locations.  This design will also enable enough power even in high external temperature conditions.  The Healcopter will be able to operate at high efficiencies with no losses to safety. Furthermore, the Healcopter will meet these mission requirements for each of the following tasks:

  1. Fast deployment and rescue coordination 
  2. Aid distribution
  3. Search and Rescue: Evacuation of casualties
