Students majoring in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical
Engineering may choose to participate in a variety of professional
organizations.
American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics
(AIAA): The
AIAA Student Chapter at Parks holds meetings and participates
in projects to supplement academic studies. The programs include
lectures by leaders in the aerospace industry, field trips
to industry, and Regional Student Conferences where original
technical papers by undergraduate student members are presented.
American Society of Mechanical Engineers
(ASME): The
ASME Student Chapter provides an opportunity to interact with
practicing engineers in the industry and learn beyond the
classroom. The students can participate in conferences, design
competition, field trips to industries and professional section
meetings.
American Helicopter Society (AHS):
The AHS Student Branch is active in providing programs for
those interested in vertical flight.
Society of Women Engineers (SWE):
The SWE chapter provides a forum for women engineers on campus.
Society of Automotive Engineers
(SAE): The
