Aviation Science Graduate Degree Programs
The Department of Aviation Science offers graduate programs leading to a Master of Science (MS) or a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. NOTE: All Aviation graduate courses are only offered exclusively online. Working closely with their academic advisor, graduate students develop a program of study, consisting of coursework specifically aimed at preparing individuals to meet their career goals and aspirations. Typical areas of specialization for Master of Science students include aviation safety, flight operations management and collegiate flight education. Based on a foundational core in aviation, the MS degree allows students to weave coursework into a coherent academic plan maximizing the diverse course offerings offered by the Department of Aviation Science. The PhD program builds on a strong foundation in research methodologies coupled with advanced coursework in the aviation sciences and related disciplines, to form graduates committed to discovery and the exploration of the issues facing aviation and other transportation industries.
Student & Faculty Research
Graduate students receive support from graduate faculty, and work closely with Saint Louis University professors collaborating on research, writing publications, developing conference presentations and engaging in supportive intellectual exchange. This individual mentoring and faculty collaboration prepares students to excel in the aviation industry and develops professional relationships that last a lifetime.
Our Aviation Science faculty are nationally recognized experts who are committed to the highest standards of teaching, research and student success. For example, faculty members have implemented successful innovations on safety issues related to aviation and other high consequence industries.
