Brent Bowen, Ed.D. Named Aviation Science Department Chair
Dr. Bowen attained a doctorate in higher education and aviation from Oklahoma State University and a master's degree in business administration from Oklahoma City University. He has over 20 years of experience in higher education. His Federal Aviation Administration certifications include airline transport pilot, certified flight instructor (Gold Seal), advanced-instrument ground instructor, aviation safety counselor and aerospace education counselor.
Dr. Bowen's research on the development of the national Airline Quality Rating is viewed by more than 50 million people each year and is regularly featured on The Cable News Network, USA Today, and in numerous other national and international media. Dr. Bowen has in excess of 300 publications, papers and professional program appearances to his credit. His research interests focus on aviation applications of public productivity enhancement and marketing in the areas of service quality evaluation, safety, and student recruitment retention in collegiate aviation programs.
Dr. Bowen is an active industry consultant, pilot and former fixed-base operator and air carrier operator.
