Engineering is the application of science, math and technology
to problems related to the needs of society. Biomedical Engineering
(BME) focuses on the understanding of biomedical systems and
the development of engineering designs to improve medical
practices and health care delivery. The primary goal of Saint
Louis University’s BME Department is to develop knowledge
and technology to improve the quality of life for all humanity.
The next generation of engineers will face many challenges
drawn from the fields of biological science, medicine, and
health care delivery. The Department of Biomedical Engineering
is committed to providing the highest quality education to
BME students through integrating research and teaching in
an outcomes-based curriculum that focuses on all degree levels.
And where you will experience what it means to use knowledge
