Pre-College Programs at Parks College

slu-students

Our Pre-College Programs are designed to build interest in the fields of engineering and aviation for middle and high school students. We are constantly adding new programs and events that showcase the exciting possibilities that pursuing an education in engineering and aviation offer. Saint Louis University Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology is a strong supporter of pre-college STEM programs and Project Lead the Way initiatives. Our faculty, students and staff are excited to work with you and look forward to seeing you on campus.

Camp Invention - Summer at SLU

July 25 - 29

We’re building the future, one thinker at a time. Camp Invention runs for one action-packed week. Each day, campers work in teams as they rotate between four fun-thematic modules. Each module brings new challenges to build upon what was learned the previous day. Just imagine what your child could experience: collaborate to build prototypes, following the example of National Inventors Hall of Fame inductees; upcycle and re-engineer with gears and gadgets, developing critical thinking skills and creativity; and explore science, technology, engineering and math enrichment, motivating a group to develop solutions to real-world problems.

Billiken BEAMS

The Billiken BEAMS Competition is a group based project opportunity in which students use their innovation to build a structure and then compete against other groups throughout the Saint Louis area. This year’s challenge is “A Bridge to Civil Engineering” in which student groups construct a supported road based bridge out of balsa wood. The winning team will design, construct and test the most effective bridge that meets competition evaluation criteria.
