May 10, 2011 at 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Busch Student Center, Room 170
On Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the Busch Student Center, Room 170 “Preparing for the Future: Communicating Inclusivity” will be facilitated by Dr. Brenda J. Allen, Associate Dean in the College of Arts and Sciences and Professor in the Department of Communications at the University of Colorado Denver.
About the Event
As part of the University’s ongoing dialogue about diversity and inclusion, this event will highlight recent accomplishments, consider ongoing challenges, and explore future directions.
Dr. Allen will help us to consider the notion of inclusion more deeply, focusing on the ways in which we communicate (whether intentionally or not) inclusivity/exclusivity to students. Ideally, the workshop will reveal practical ways we can make the University more inclusive and will lay a firm foundation for future professional development opportunities on this topic.
The event is open to faculty, staff and graduate students and a continental breakfast will be provided.
