About the Academy
The 5 day/4 night 2011 session will be held June 19-23. The goal of the Saint Louis University Engineering and Aviation Summer Academy is to introduce high school juniors to the latest technology and career paths in an exciting and enriching atmosphere. The theme of the 2011 Academy will be sustainability. Students will complete a team project during the course of the Academy. At the end of the program the student’s families are invited to attended a luncheon during which the teams will make a presentation about their experiences and what they have learned.
Faculty and student mentors will guide students through modules in aerospace and mechanical engineering, aviation management and flight science, biomedical engineering, civil engineering, computer and electrical engineering and physics. Students will also get to attend a Cardinals baseball game, take a flight in a state-of-the-art aircraft and find out what college life is like at Saint Louis University.
