Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology hosted a St. Louis Cardinals Spirit Day event on Wednesday, Oct. 26, in the rotunda of McDonnell Douglas Hall.
The event benefited the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Cardinal Glennon Children’s Foundation. Faculty, staff and students wore their St. Louis Cardinals gear and hung out with the Rally Squirrel and the Billiken.
The Rally Squirrel was on campus to cheer on the Cardinals in the World Series with the SLU community. Donations purchased a Rally Squirrel T-shirt or Rally Squirrel button that reads “I went to Bat for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.”
Amanda Pope, marketing manager for Parks College, was diagnosed with leukemia in 2010 and had a stem-cell transplant. Pope won her battle with the disease and has since returned to SLU.
