    The department of civil engineering at SLU is establishing a civil engineering club, which is working toward becoming a student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).  The objectives of the ASCE student chapter at SLU will be to encourage the development of a professional consciousness, to afford an opportunity for civil engineering students to become acquainted and to practice working together effectively, to promote a spirit of congeniality among them, and to provide friendly contact with the engineering profession. Join the civil engineering faculty members for free pizza and soda on Tuesday, September 7th to learn more!

    The BME Department is hosting a Conference in which students will report on their internships, involvement in the SURE program and other BME-related summer experiences. Students will have posters and laptop slide shows. The purpose is to recognize those who had internships and to inform freshmen and others about the types of internships available and how to apply.  Student organizations will also have tables to inform and recruit new members.

ASME stands for American Society of Mechanical Engineers, but is  open to all majors at Parks. Just about every major at Parks could benefit from what the groups has to offer.

    The Director of the Graduate Program, Dr. Ligrani, will hold a meeting for all Parks College graduate students. Attendance at the meeting is mandatory.  The meeting will provide the Director of Graduate Programs an opportunity to welcome students to the Graduate Programs at Parks College, and to address any queries or concerns they may have in regard to the Graduate Programs.

    The Society of Physics Students is hosting The Egg Drop, their annual recruiting event in which students apply their knowledge of physics to accurately drop an egg a staggering one story and have it remain uncracked. Students can feel free to build their  own contraption from scratch and bring it, or jury-rig something from minimal materials which will be supplied.
