When Riyadh Hindi, Ph.D., P.E. began at Parks College, he started up a research program on highway bridges and transportation infrastructures. Three years later, the program is now supported through external funding and has expanded to include two additional faculty members as well as several graduate and undergraduate students.
Parks College’s Aerospace, Biomedical, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering programs have been fully reaccredited by ABET. Additionally, with its first graduating class in 2011, the computer engineering program received its initial accreditation.
SLU’s new research and development program in unmanned systems will lay the foundation for the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) both for operators and maintainers.
Saint Louis University’s Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology professor Manoj Patankar, Ph.D., has been elected a Fellow of the prestigious international Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS). Patankar is among a select few members from the United States and the first from Saint Louis University.

Throughout the week, Summer Academy students have been experiencing life on SLU’s campus, participating various academic department modules and flight simulation activities as well as flying in a Diamond airplane at the downtown airport.
