After a networking session with local professionals, attendees enjoyed dinner and a presentation on future prospects for renewable energy from Dr. Babu Chalamala, an IEEE and SunEdison Fellow.

During the event, Mallik was named Outstanding Section Member for his consistent efforts to assist the St. Louis section. This prestigious award is given to one person annually and selected among approximately 1500 members in the section. The SLU student branch’s ION Newsletter team was also recognized for their outstanding contributions.

After a year of hiatus, the SLU student branch revived the ION Newsletter and published two issues this past year with one due out in February 2015.

The ION Newsletter is the St. Louis Professional Section’s publication that highlights section news, awards, events, job postings, affiliated IEEE societies’ and student branches’ updates.
