Emeritus Status Awarded to Two Distinguished Parks College Faculty

emeritusstatusawardedtotwodistinguishedparkscollegefacultystackedSaint Louis University has awarded emeritus status to past Parks College faculty members Cecil Thomas, Ph.D., and Swami Karunamoorthy, D.Sc.

Thomas came to Saint Louis University in 1997, where he initiated the Parks College Biomedical Engineering Department. In 2007, he founded the Interdisciplinary Engineering program at Parks. Prior to coming to Saint Louis University, Thomas began his career in the research division with Martin-Marietta. He went on to work in the Biomedical Engineering Department at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio before retuning to industry to serve as the President of North Coast Engineering.

Karunamoorthy served as a faculty member in the Department of Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering for more than 25 years beginning 1986 after receiving his Doctoral degree at Washington University. During his time at Saint Louis University and Parks College Karunamoorthy held several positions including Director of Mechanical Engineering Program, Chair of the Department of Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering, and Associate Dean.
