Summer Academy students spent the past week experiencing life on SLU’s campus, participating various academic department modules and flight simulation activities as well as flying in a Diamond airplane at the downtown airport.
Parks College students recently showcased their research projects they developed as part of their senior design capstone course. Out of the 33 senior design projects, one was chosen as being the best among the six departmental programs: Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering as well as Physics.
This event will highlight aerospace, biomedical, electrical and computer and mechanical engineering projects from the Senior Design capstone course in the Spring 2012 semester. Each poster will be presented for discussion and questions.
The Parks SAE Aero Design Team succeeded at the 2012 SAE West Competition. The Micro Class placed 1st place for the Design Report. The Advanced Class achieved 1st place in Design Report and most accurate DAS system, as well as 3rd place for the oral presentation.
Parks students were among the more than 300 faculty and students who were in attendance at theNCIIA’s16thAnnual Conference, held Mar. 22-24, 2012. The program consisted of three days of knowledge sharing and network building.
Parks female students are invited to join the Society of Women Engineers in leading groups of high school girls from area schools through two activity stations then providing tours of the engineering and aviation facilities at SLU. An Industry Luncheon will follow.
Reconnect with former classmates, visit with current students and faculty, take a tour to rediscover campus, enjoy a concert, cheer on the Billikens at a soccer game and catch a fantastic fireworks display!
On Sunday, Apr. 10, 2011 two Parks Students, Megan Fessenden and James Starke, were inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu, the Honor Society of Jesuit Institutions of Higher Education. Selection is based on scholarship, loyalty and service.
